Administrative Assistant (Part-Time)

Location: remote work

Hours: 15 hours/week (with potential to grow into full-time)

About Food Ease Nutrition Counseling

Food Ease provides compassionate, size-inclusive nutrition counseling to help clients build healthier relationships with food. We prioritize accessibility, body positivity, and evidence-based care in the Santa Cruz community and beyond. As we grow, we’re looking for a dynamic Business Manager to support operations, client relations, and local brand awareness.


Role Overview

You’ll be the right-hand person to the founder, handling admin, scheduling, client communication, and local outreach. If you’re organized, love connecting with people, and want to help grow a wellness business in Santa Cruz, this is for you!


Key Responsibilities

✅ Operations & Admin

  • Manage client scheduling, intake, and follow-ups (via EHR/platforms like Healthie or SimplePractice).
  • Handle emails, invoices, and basic bookkeeping (experience with QuickBooks or similar a plus).
  • Streamline systems to improve efficiency.

✅ Client Experience & Outreach

  • Serve as the friendly first point of contact for clients (emails, calls, onboarding).
  • Support client acquisition through local partnerships, referrals, and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with Santa Cruz businesses (studios, clinics, etc.) for cross-promotion.

✅ Marketing & Brand Growth

  • Assist with social media planning (Instagram, newsletters) to boost visibility.
  • Help develop brand awareness campaigns (e.g., workshops, local events).
  • Ideal if you have graphic design (Canva) or copywriting skills!

✅ Bonus Skills

  • Experience in healthcare, wellness, or HAES (Health at Every Size) spaces.
  • Comfort in a client-facing role (nutrition, therapy, or retail/service background great!).
  • Passion for body liberation, intuitive eating, or anti-diet culture.

Logistics

  • Mostly remote, but must be based in/near Santa Cruz or willing to commute 1x/week.
  • Flexible hours, but some availability during 9am–5pm PST weekdays preferred, weekends and evenings work too!
