Human Resources & Office Assistant - Sprouts Chef Training (Contractor, Part-Time, Fully Remote)

 


We are looking for a mission-forward Human Resources professional to provide Sprouts with a strong team culture and support structure and keep the daily operations running smoothly.


Chef Training Program Overview

We believe in a world where all youth have access to fulfilling career pathways. We help Bay Area & NYC youth who are experiencing hardship to achieve stability and financial autonomy through life skills coaching and restaurant internships. Youth are paired with chef mentors and case managers to develop the skills needed to secure and maintain a culinary job. Since 2012, 180 youth have leveraged their culinary skills to overcome housing instability, fund higher education, pursue careers as chefs, enter new professions, and support their families.


Your Role

As a Human Resource and Office Assistant, you will enable Sprouts’ mission by:

  • Establishing a positive team culture with virtual team socials and coaching sessions
  • Managing team member sick days, overtime hours, schedule changes, and vacation reporting
  • Supporting new team members (both volunteer, paid, and board) with onboarding components from Google suite orientation to paperwork to handling highs and lows that arise during their employment at Sprouts
  • Recruiting and doing preliminary interviews with potential new volunteer and paid team members
  • Helping with administrative tasks such as organizing files and improving general admin and behind-the-scenes processes to make them more efficient


Sample Tasks
  • Facilitate communication between management/department heads and employees
  • Create positive team culture by organizing team socials and employing a friendly email style
  • Schedule meetings for Executive Director
  • Sort and distribute team communications in a timely manner
  • Collect and confirm team member sick and vacation days
  • Update donor CRM after large fundraising events
  • Create and update records and google doc files as Sprouts grows and laws and codes change, including companies policies and benefit packages
  • Email with insurance and legal teams as questions arise
  • Provide potential board members with information about the board and orient new board members
  • Help resolve office-related malfunctions and respond to requests or issues
  • Oversee employee performance and collaborate with management to evaluate employees
  • Ensure employee compliance with all company policies and state/federal regulations
  • Educate employees on company benefits and rewards
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with established policies
  • Take inquiry calls for Sprouts when needed

Locations, Hours, Compensation
  • 10-15 hours a week
  • $29-35/hr depending on experience
  • Contract status to start, room for growth
  • All work is performed remotely, schedule determined by applicant
