Position: Operations Manager – Manufacturing (Concrete & Tile Products)
Location: Mlolongo, Kenya
Reports to: General Manager and HOB
We are seeking a highly driven and hands on Operations Manager to lead our manufacturing plant in Mlolongo producing tile cuttings, concrete bricks, and related concrete products.
This role is critical in overseeing daily plant operations while supporting the business transition from internal supply to a fully commercial, revenue-generating manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will serve as the General Manager’s on-site representative, ensuring operational excellence, accountability, and readiness for scale.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee day-to-day plant operations, ensuring production, quality, and delivery targets are met.
• Optimize workflows, machine utilization, and plant efficiency.
• Lead and supervise production supervisors, machine operators, and plant staff.
• Drive commercial-scale production planning aligned with demand and delivery commitments.
• Enforce health, safety, environmental, and labour compliance standards.
• Provide accurate daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports to senior management.
• Monitor costs, reduce wastage, and improve overall plant performance.
Qualifications & Experience
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field.
• 5–8 years’ experience in manufacturing or plant operations (concrete/construction materials preferred).
• Proven experience managing factory teams and production processes.
• Experience supporting scale-up to commercial production is an added advantage.
