2. INSPECTORS OF WORKS
They will complement the Senior Inspectors in monitoring the project to ensure compliance with engineering plans, safety regulations, and quality standards. Key duties include inspecting materials, verifying, grades, testing pavement, documenting progress in daily reports, and managing site safety. He/she will be the bridge of the gap between design and execution, often coordinating with contractors and engineers to resolve on-site issues.
Core Responsibilities and Duties
. Quality Control & Compliance: Inspecting materials (e.g., asphalt, concrete), monitoring construction methods, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
. Site Inspection & Testing: Conducting scheduled/ unscheduled visits to assess work quality, such as subgrade preparation, drainage, and pavement, to check for defects or deviations.
. Documentation & Reporting: Maintaining daily diaries, recording material quantities, documenting construction progress, and verifying contractor invoices.
. Safety Enforcement: Ensuring a safe work environment by monitoring for hazards, verifying the use of protective equipment, and reviewing traffic control, according to the Contractor's SHE File requirements
. Coordination & Communication: Acting as a liaison between engineers, contractors, and the public to resolve construction issues and address complaints, notes.
Minimum Qualifications
. Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, Materials Engineering
. ERB Registration is essential
. 3 years of Civil Engineering Projects Essential
